Hey there beauties ;)
Yes, I am asking the question! LOL! Are your make-up brushes clean??
If so, so happy for you...wooohooo. If not, oh well, we are a work in progress. No shaming here.
Well, let's talk about it. If you are anything like me, make-up brushes are my loooove! I just love how they feel and how it makes my make up go on so flawless. And also keeping the hands clean. I have a fascination with make-up brushes and have to catch myself when I go into the beauty stores or even Target for that matter. I want to buy up every brush there is. I went to Target a few months ago and racked up on some E.L.F. cosmetics brushes. You can't go wrong with their brushes. Love them.
Okay, so I want to share with you two ways you can keep those wonderful brushes clean and free from bacteria build-up. The one thing you don't want is to have dirty brushes and all of a sudden you have breakouts and wondering why? You can breakout days or weeks later after using a dirty brush. So, here are some ways to keep them clean and keep your skin looking flawless.
- Clean your brushes on a weekly basis. Cleansing your brushes with a mild soap. I suggest Dr. Bonner's Castille soap. I like using the Tea Tree one just to make sure my brushes are clean and free from bacteria and residue. Just wet your brushes with warm water, take some mild soap or Dr. Bonner's and put in your hand and start rubbing the brushes against your the palm of your hand. Be gentle so that the bristles will not come out and keeping them in place. Wash twice to make sure all soap, residue is gone from your brush. Your water should run clear and your brush squeaky clean and no suds are left in the brush. For foundation brushes, you want to wash a little longer and take the fine tooth brush/comb for your eyebrows, use that to comb through the brush to eliminate any foundation reside in between the brushes.
